MAJOR (U) MUHAMMAD ISYHAK BIN HAJI ISMAIL

Major (U) Muhammad Isyhak bin Haji Ismail was appointed as the Commanding Officer of No. 3 Wing on 3rd October 2025. He enlisted in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 25th September 2009 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in July 2010 upon graduating from Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
In the beginning of his career, Major (U) Muhammad Isyhak began as a Troop Officer with 33 Squadron in the Air Regiment (currently designated as 233 Squadron, No. 2 Wing). He further progressed in the Air Regiment as Troop Commander of 238 Squadron in 2012. In 2013, he expanded his expertise by transitioning to an instructional role, serving as Wing Commander at the Officer Cadet School until 2016. In 2015, he attended the Air Force Training Centre in Paya Lebar, Singapore, where he completed the 23rd Ground Based Air Defence Air Warfare Officer course. After returning to No. 2 Wing in 2016, he took on the position of Second-in-Command of 238 Squadron until 2017. He then served as Officer Commanding of 77 Squadron, Training Wing, until 2021. Major (U) Muhammad Isyhak held the role of Officer Commanding of 238 Squadron of No. 2 Wing until 2023, subsequently becoming Staff Officer Grade 2, A5 Cell at the Royal Brunei Air Force Headquarters until 2025.
Major (U) Muhammad Isyhak's military education encompasses the completion of the RBAF Junior Staff Course in 2016. He earned a Graduate Diploma in Defence and Security Studies from the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Brunei Darussalam, during the RBAF Command and Staff Course in 2022. In recognition of his exemplary service, he was honoured with the Excellence Service Medal by His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam in 2023.
Major (U) Muhammad Isyhak is happily married to Wafa Nabilah binti Abdullah and blessed with two daughters and two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and running to maintain his fitness.
